Black widow tattoo

Here is one of my favorite projects , actually was an spontaneous idea that I inked last year (2013) at Brussels Tattoo Convention .
My costumer want something half angel half good , half bad but without devils , he think about a Katrina , witch is a very popular theme in tattooing. I always try to advice my clients to chose something original , not only the motive himself but also the theme because I don t like to copy and I think is good to use body anatomy for make the tattoo fit perfect the person ( the person mind and body ) this means custom work .
This time I propose my customer to do something different than other people use to . I choose a picture with Vera Renczi , a very famous murderer from Romania in the 1920 , she was known like "The Black Widow" . Actually a very beautiful woman but she use her charm to kill more than 35 people using Arsenic , mostly mans .
I find one really cool picture with big contrast and highlights that offer me the chance to have a really light good side and almost black dark side . Because my customer don t want to have visible demons on the skin I choose to do half face like a negative skull , in order to suggest the evil , but on the first moment you can see only the woman . I use her face lines to build the skull side in harmony with the other side and I just use some highlights for balance with the light side keeping all the skull in the shadow.
I think this is one of my most powerful projects , not only because the technic but mostly because the theme and the history of the picture .

The tattoo take 30 min drawing , 3.5 hours of work and I use Cheyenne Thunder and my own pure black formula ;)

Portraits fever

Long time I don t post a new blog because I was searching for a direction in my tattoo-work , trying to find my favorite tattoo themes in order to do a progress in my work and reach a next level of profession .
Beside my first beloved themes like skulls , horror tattoos or byomech I focus much in human anatomy and portraits . Is a bit hard to do this , because I need time to prepare and focus on this projects , that's why I must refuse many projects and requests from old and new customers , projects that are not on my artistic area , but on the end I find the balance .
Here are some examples of my last tattoo-work , i promise in the next time I will co,e with some projects and descriptions of my techniques and progress .

Best of show at Reutlingen Tattoo Convention

After a really long brake from my tattoo work , because I was working hard this year to some other projects ( Sibiu Bike Show , Transilvania Tattoo Expo and some personal business ) here I am at Reutlingen Convention really hungry for inked some skin !
Reutlingen was the first convention where me and Ada take part in 2008 and with some help from our good friend Ski King this convention became the start from our first tour. Reutlingen Convention will be always in our mind like the beginning from all the important things , here we meet Ski , Ada did the first tattoo and also she get her first tattoo from me , here we do the first guest-pot at Deep Cut Studio and this convention is in 6 september my birthday ;)
This year I was really surprised when I get some really cool drop ins and my costumers goes on the stage with my ink . I was honored and happy to win 3 important prizes : Best Black Gray , Best of day and BEST OF SHOW and the Mighty Ski King singing Happy Birthday for me !

Spartaaaaaaaa!!!

For this tattoo I use 2 reference pictures , one from my costumer the digital image below and the other one I find in Internet , the image with Gerald Butler from the 300 moovie . I draw the warrior using the position and the background from the first picture and the anatomy details from the second one. For the balance I decide to use the shield that Achilles (Brad Pitt ) have it in Troy .
The water I choose becose my costumer want a blue background , but I think blue is not enough dramatic for this picture , but for the picture's ground I find it perfect for the color balance and for the dinamic efect.
I use AllaPrima Ink and for the body Ethernal ink , all the collors was mixed by me .

How to get 50.000 likes and 3000 shares in facebook

This is a funny story :D
I was guest artist in Berlin at Tiki Tatau studio , verry cool place and wonderful people.
One of the artists , Crazzy , ask me for an interesting tattoo , something on the hand that when he hold the heat and cover the face must loock like a mask. We decide to do a half skull on the nand on the way that when he cover the mouth with the hand the face supose to look like wering a skull mask.
We decide to present this tattoo at Berlin Tattoo Convention becose this year I was sponsored by Cheyenne Hawk so I have the booth on the row with great artists like Moni Marino and Tommy Lee , becose this I try to bring every day something cool , diferend and original.

Half angel/half devil , how I make it

One costumer come with this request : he want one man half good , half bad betwen 2 wings that I inked 8 years before.
The place betwen wings was enough for a body size to respect the proportion.
First I loock for a naked male who not loock totaly gay . Hard to find with Google. Finaly I find something I like it , a picture with the new Conan , but with face cover by hair and the legs cover by something.
So , using the lightbox I take the body shape and I start buiding my picture.
I add a face in the same head position , half human , half skull with a goat horn , this was in my opinion the most evil thing I can do in a 3 cm high head. After this I draw the legs and I cover the sex with some material and I add an goat fit .
In the pictures below you can see the making of from the original picture , to drawing , stencil and finaly the tattoo.
I use Cheyenne hawk machine and only pure black AllaPrima Ink.

Acryl fever

After The visit to my friend Guil Zerki I get the painting virus back . I remember how important is to change the artistic medium sometimes .
Here are 2 paintings I did in Flensburg after the inspiring guestpot at Reinkarnation Koln .
I use acrylic colors on canvas suport.first one is inspired from internet and is really small ,15/18 cm and the second is a reroduction from the great Basil Gogol . I choose this becose I feel Like into the color moode and also i really love the Dracula caracter from Christopher Lee .
Here are the paintings , I will try to work more in the next time , i need to remember how to handle the brushes and the colors , but I really enjoy this challenge !
I took 2 pictures from Dracula , first one is on the day light and the second one done in the same light I see it during the painting proces , one night .
